Apropo de Edward Lear, am auzit că a fost tradus de Şerban Foarţă şi limericks-urile (limerick-urile? :)) au fost publicate la Editura de Vest din Timişoara. Editura asta de ce nu are un site decent, sau eu cum fac rost de traducerea asta?! :)

Am găsit online un limerick tradus de Foarţă, ca să înţelegeţi la ce mă refer:

"Un domn în vârstă din Boemia,
Avea o fată Euphemia,
Or, ea, de soţ,
Îşi luă un hoţ,
Spre jalea tatei din Boemia!"

Cum ar zice prietenii mei germani: Grannndiozzzz!

A, da, şi asta:

Am ajuns la concluzia că nu am voie să mă mir de oameni care nu ştiu că "Alice în ţara minunilor" nu e doar un film Disney ci a fost înainte de toate o carte de Lewis Carroll, pentru că nici eu nu ştiam că Edward Scissorhands e bazat pe un personaj dintr-o carte germană pentru copii din secolul XIX, "Der Struwwelpeter", de Heinrich Hoffmann, devenită un clasic pentru ei şi tradusă în foarte multe limbi, inclusiv în română (Petrică Ciufulitul, la editura Corint Junior :))!

Heinrich Hoffmann era un doctor care a început să deseneze ca să mai calmeze copii speriaţi de mame cu poveşti de genul "dacă nu eşti cuminte vine nenea doctor şi îţi dă injecţii!", şi să îi poată consulta. Pe Struwwelpeter l-a făcut cadou fiului său de Crăciun.

Take a pig, three or four years of age, and tie him by the off-hind leg to a post. Place 5 pounds of currants, 5 of sugar, 2 pecks of peas, 18 roast chestnuts, a candle, and six bushels of turnips, within his reach; if he eats these, constantly provide him with more.

Then, procure some cream, some slices of Cheshire cheese, four quinces of foolscap paper, and a packet of black pins. Work the whole into a paste, and spread it out to dry on a sheet of clean brown waterproof linen.

When the paste is perfectly dry, but not before, proceed to beat the Pig violently, with the handle of a large broom. If he squeals, beat him again.

Visit the paste and beat the pig alternately for some days, and ascertain that if at the end of that period the whole is about to turn into Gosky Patties.

If it does not then, it never will; and in that case the Pig may be let loose, and the whole process may be considered as finished.

much like a sonnet (strict form, rhyme, meter), and like the opposite of a sonnet (not exactly into the whole love thing), therefore, better! :)

This definition is very soft. Acesti Yahoo sunt niste humanoizi degenerati, respingatori, meschini si scatofili.
Ultima calatorie (A Journey to the Country of the Houyhnhnms) e din cauza asta si cea mai controversata. Gulliver nu vrea sa mai paraseasca tara in care a ajuns, ii admira pe Houyhnhnmi (un fel de cai foarte inteligenti, manierati) pana la adoratie si e stapanit de un dezgust profund pt rasa umana.

Mama mea foloseşte cuvântul "credenţ", aşa că eu mă mir de unde vine (ca şi cu "şpais" :) sau "a se dunstoli", al lui buni). Pe dexonline scrie doar:

În germană e mai palpitant, în dicţionar scrie că a face credenţa era, ceva de genul, o mică gustare pentru a testa că totul e ok, că nu incearcă nimeni să otrăvească pe nimeni.

Erdmöbel (mobilă de/din pământ) - cuvântul pentru sicriu în dialect est-german.
Am aflat asta pentru ca exista si o trupă cu numele ăsta. Drăguţ. Ceeepy. Mă rog... :)
